Henry

Henry

Henry is a 6 year old boy who has been diagnosed with arthrogryposis, which is a catch-all term describing a number of conditions that affect the joints. Arthrogryposis is not progressive —  in other words, it will not get worse.  In Henry’s case, his legs are affected, and his arms and hands seem to be very functional. He can walk and run, although with a stiff gait.  Henry has had a variety of surgeries to alleviate his joint contractures.  He is seems to be developmentally on target for his age (except for his mobility). He knows his body parts, colors, simple math, and children’s songs.  He is funny, kind-hearted, engaging and loves to play with other children. He shares well and has a cheerful, outgoing personality.
